This $4.8 Million Estate in the Memorial Area Is a Gem You Must See
HOUSTON – At KPRC 2, we love to cover the best of the best real estate in the Houston area. There are houses that we eye, houses where we say “Whoa!” and homes we think if we had a few million we could move into – like today. They’re warm, they’re comfortable, they’re charming, they’re just the right amount of luxury, style and class. There is a house in the Memorial district in 11320 Green Vale Drive in Houston, this is definitely one of them. If only we had the $4.8 million to buy it.
Alas, someone else will buy it, but the six-bed, six-bath (with three half-bath) home will inspire us. And in addition, 8,919 square feet is so many to clean! (We have to tell each other stuff like that so our hearts don’t get broken, y’all.)
But why do we love this so much at home? The English cottage, country mansion qualities are just the beginning. The arched entrance that leads to an antechamber with wood and tile floors is an ideal configuration that welcomes a visitor into the house and adjoining spaces. But before you go, look at this staircase. Carved wooden starting post with wrought iron balusters. The entire staircase is lit by sconces and lined with windows. It’s an open and bright walk up to the second floor.
Among the many highlights of this home are its floor-to-ceiling windows that invite the visitor to gaze into the green that surrounds the home in the room near the front door and also in the formal dining room.
The formal Great Room of the house is located in the heart of the house with its beautiful wooden beams with arches that invite the eye to the circular chandelier. The eye then moves to the space light sconces that fill the space with so much light. While some homes are whitewashed and cold, this home has the warmth of wood accents with the clean effect of whitewashed walls. The choices complement each other with an attractive contrast. The attractive arched brick wall brings the exterior composition of the house.
The kitchen, with its massive light granite island and warm wood cabinetry, is an inviting space with classic yet updated elements. A nice touch in the space is the pebble-look glass which gives a frosted and aged effect on the cabinetry. A small patio is also located next to the kitchen where you can have your coffee outside.
The exposed master bedroom is white with a wall of windows and a fireplace. Classic and simple and luxurious. And then you enter the master bathroom with its deep soaking tub, vanity where you can sit, a wall of windows and a large hidden tiled shower. The main closet is huge, as you would expect in a home at this price.
The library reminds us of “Beauty and the Beast” with its high shelves and wall of windows. Dark cross beams that match the rest of the house are eye-catching.
The second floor appears to have a large family entertainment room with built-ins. A second set of stairs seem to lead to another area of bedroom spaces.
Outdoor living areas include a large outdoor kitchen with arches that match the rest of the house and an adjoining courtyard, enclosed on three sides.
We probably missed a few features, so check it out for yourself and enjoy the beauty that $4.8 million can buy Houston. See the full list of Nan and Company Properties here.
