It’s all part of Mojang’s ongoing efforts to improve the first half of the Caves and Cliffs Update, with Part II 1.18 expected later this year.

The 1.17.1 patch update for Minecraft: Java Edition will not add any significant new features to the game, but it does include many bug fixes and a number of changes related to axolotl, goats, hostile mobs. , powder snow, and more. Hopefully this update paves the way for Minecraft’s next big phase: 1.18 Caves and Cliffs Update Part Two.
